The MuSynth is a high-quality and versatile workhorse synth capable of creating a vast range of sounds, both sample-based or virtual analog or combinations of these.

It consists of 2 powerful oscillators, each capable of generating fat super sounds, a multi-sample player and a noise generator. All these 4 sound generators can be processed by a ring modulator and up to three 12dB/oct filters. Both oscillators and the sample player can get a pitch LFO and/or envelope. Also each of the filters can get a cutoff LFO and/or envelope.

One of the powers of the MuSynth lays in its flexible routing: When OSC 1 is enabled it will generate sound. Now with the litte buttons on the filters and amplifier you can choose how the OSC 1 signal must flow. Similar for the other modules.

  • O1 = Osc 1
  • O2 = Osc 2
  • SP = Sample Player
  • RM = Ring Modulator
  • NS = Noise Generator
  • F1 = Filter 1
  • F2 = Filter 2
  • F3 = Filter 3

For example, have a detailed look at the above MuSynth picture. You'll see that Osc 1 & 2 are enabled (green LED = on) and that they're routed into Filter 1, but not into Filter 2, Filter 3 nor in the final Amplifier. Filter 2 receives input from Filter 1 only, and the final Amp receives input from Filter 2. So in fact the signal is going from O1+O2 into F1 then from F1 to F2 then from F2 to final Amp. This way we have applied a double serial filter onto the combined signals of O1+O2! Of course many other combinations are possible!

  • To give you maximum control, almost every sub-module of the MuSynth has its own process On/Off switch, the green LED in the top-left corner of a sub-module.
  • Almost every sub-module's title bar also functions as a button to open the complete editor of that sub-module.
  • Almost every sub-module's title bar also functions as a drag starter to drag-drop this sub-module around.
  • You can drag-drop a parameter onto on of the 3 meta-parameters on top so to add/edit the meta-parameter mapping to that parameter.
  • At the end of the signal chain you have 4 plug-in slots where you can insert global effects.
  • The first of these 4 plug-in slots also receives the incoming events so you can use these events in a MUX there!
